The romantic movie is an adaptation of Robinne Lee’s bestselling novel, which has sparked rumors about its connection to Harry Styles from One Direction.

During a Vogue interview in 2020, Lee clarified, “Contrary to speculation, this book was never intended to revolve around Harry Styles. Its purpose was to delve into the journey of a woman in her forties, as she embraces her sexuality, rediscovers herself, and challenges societal norms that often dismiss women as desirable and complete.”

Nonetheless, she mentioned that the inception of the book occurred when she stumbled upon some clips from the band One Direction while surfing music videos on YouTube in 2017. She described it as a “seed being planted.” One particular member, Styles, caught her attention, and upon conducting some research, she discovered that he frequently dated older women. Although she acknowledged that Styles served as an initial muse for the male character, she emphasized that using the term “inspired” to describe the resemblance would be an overstatement.
