Below is the comprehensive timetable for the NFL playoffs 2024.
The NFL playoffs 2024 have finally arrived after an eventful 18 weeks of regular-season action. As we bid farewell to the regular season, it’s time to embrace the excitement of the postseason, starting with the wild card round.
While some familiar teams like the 49ers, Chiefs, and Cowboys have secured their playoff spots, there are also some fresh faces in the mix. Interestingly, three out of the four teams in NFL playoffs 2024 history that have never made it to a Super Bowl – Houston, Cleveland, and Detroit – have made it to the playoffs this year. Unfortunately, the Browns and Texans will face each other, meaning one of them will have their playoff journey cut short in the first round.
On the other hand, the Lions will be hosting their first playoff game in three decades, adding an extra layer of excitement to the occasion. In a captivating twist, they will be up against a familiar foe in Matthew Stafford, who now plays for the opposing team. This matchup between Los Angeles and Detroit will make history as the first playoff game where both starting quarterbacks face their former teams. Make sure to tune in on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on NBC to witness this thrilling encounter.
Regarding the remaining NFL playoffs 2024 schedule, you can find the details below. Super Bowl LVIII will be broadcasted on CBS and Nickelodeon, and you can also stream it on Paramount+ with a 7-day free trial.
Super Wild Card Weekend
Saturday, Jan. 13
(5) Browns at (4) Texans, 4:30 p.m. ET (NBC, fubo). The Browns have made it to the playoffs for only the second time in the past 20 years. Although the Browns won 36-22 in their previous matchup against the Texans in Week 16, it’s important to note that C.J. Stroud didn’t play. This time, the Texans’ rookie superstar will be on the field, facing a tough challenge against the Browns defense.
(6) Dolphins at (3) Chiefs, 8 p.m. ET (Peacock). Tyreek Hill will have another opportunity to face his former team, this time in Kansas City. The Chiefs previously defeated the Dolphins 21-14 in their Week 9 encounter, but that game took place in Germany. The upcoming game in Kansas City is expected to have a temperature of around 6 degrees at kickoff.
Sunday, Jan. 14
(7) Steelers at (2) Bills, 1 p.m. ET (CBS/stream on Paramount+). The game will be held in Buffalo, where the Bills have been nearly invincible this season with a 7-1 record. Josh Allen has faced the Steelers four times in his career, winning three of those matchups. The forecast for Sunday in Buffalo predicts sub-freezing temperatures and possible snow.
(7) Packers at (2) Cowboys, 4:30 p.m. ET (Fox, fubo). This game will serve as a revenge opportunity for Mike McCarthy, the Cowboys coach. It will be only the second time McCarthy faces the Packers since being fired by them in December 2018. McCarthy lost their first meeting in 2022 and will be eager to secure his first victory over Green Bay.
(6) Rams at (3) Lions, 8 p.m. ET (NBC, fubo). The Lions will be hosting their first home playoff game in 30 years, and they will be welcoming back Matthew Stafford, their former quarterback. Stafford led the Lions to the playoffs three times but never had the chance to play a home game. This matchup will also hold significance for Jared Goff, the Rams’ quarterback.
Monday, January 15th
(5) Eagles at (4) Buccaneers, 8:15 p.m. ET (ABC/ESPN, fubo). The Eagles are entering the playoffs with some struggles, but they will travel to Tampa Bay with the confidence of having defeated the Buccaneers 25-11 at Raymond James Stadium in Week 3.
