Garrison Brown- Janelle and Kody Brown, stars of “Sister Wives,” are grieving the passing of their adult son, Garrison. The couple made a joint announcement on March 5, revealing the heartbreaking news of the 25-year-old’s death.
In her post, Janelle Brown expressed, “Kody and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy Robert Garrison Brown. He was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him. His absence will create a significant void in our lives that is truly overwhelming. We kindly ask for privacy during this difficult time and invite you to join us in honoring his memory.”
Kody Brown also shared the same message on his social media page along with pictures of their son in uniform.
In an official statement provided to the media, a representative from the Flagstaff Police Department in Arizona has confirmed the unfortunate passing of Garrison Brown. The statement expressed deep sadness and confirmed that Mr. Robert Garrison Brown was discovered deceased in his residence. It was further mentioned that Gabe Brown, Garrison Brown’s younger brother, was present at the home when the police arrived.
The police have clarified that there is currently no evidence of any foul play, and their detectives are actively conducting an investigation to gather more information.
The Brown family, who are well-known due to their participation in the TLC show “Sister Wives,” received condolences from the network. In a statement given to media, the network expressed their devastation upon hearing the news of Garrison Brown’s tragic loss. They extended their sincerest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the grieving Brown family during this challenging period.
It is worth noting that Janelle Brown became Kody Brown’s second wife in 1993.
The couple welcomed six children into their family after getting married – Logan, Madison, Hunter, (Robert) Garrison, Gabriel (Gabe), and Savanah.
Janelle Brown announced in December 2022 that she and Kody had been living separately for a few months. In the subsequent year, she disclosed that she continued to reside in Flagstaff, Arizona, even after their separation.
Janelle Brown shared in November 2023 that she found joy in residing in the desert state due to the fact that three of her children, including Garrison, were still residing in the area.
Janelle Brown, together with Kody Brown’s other wives at the time – Meri, Christine, and Robyn Brown – and their children relocated to an undeveloped piece of land in Flagstaff back in 2018 with the intention of constructing a single-family home collectively.
Nonetheless, Christine Brown parted ways with Kody in 2021. By January 2023, Meri and Kody Brown made public their decision to permanently end their marriage. Robyn Brown is now his sole remaining wife.
Garrison and Gabriel Brown distanced themselves from their father due to his stringent COVID-19 regulations during Season 17 of “Sister Wives.” This estrangement persisted into Season 18, which concluded in December 2023.
Gabriel Brown revealed on Season 18 of the show that he and Garrison are currently in conflict with their father due to their dissatisfaction with how things have been handled during the COVID pandemic. Instead of engaging in a meaningful conversation with Kody Brown, Gabriel felt like he was met with a wall, lacking any form of dialogue. This lack of communication has created a divide between them, which Gabriel believes is the main cause of their strained relationship.
In the same episode, Janelle Brown, their mother, expressed her concerns about how her sons were coping with the situation and the impact it was having on their mental health. Gabriel, in particular, experiences emotions deeply, while Garrison appears to be angrier and sadder, losing his previous carefree nature.
The distance between Janelle Brown’s sons and their father also played a role in her decision to end their spiritual marriage. During a discussion about their ongoing separation in Season 18, Janelle and Kody Brown acknowledged that their issues were partly influenced by how Kody had handled his sons’ estrangement.
Janelle emphasized her independence and stated that she doesn’t require much from him. However, when Kody suddenly refuses to be a father to her children simply because they disagree with him, it significantly alters the balance of their marriage.
